PoE consists of a Director, an Associate Director, an Undergraduate Program Coordinator, an Undergraduate Adviser, a Graduate Program Coordinator and a Program Operations Specialist. PoE is overseen by an Advisory Board consisting of faculty, staff, and students representing a wide range of departments, colleges, and service units from all three UW campuses. Administratively, PoE is a unit that reports to the Council of Environmental Deans representing the Evans School of Public Affairs and the Colleges of Architecture & Urban Planning, Arts & Sciences, Engineering, Forest Resources, and Ocean and Fishery Sciences.
We have an opening for a part-time (50% FTE) temporary (March 16 – June 15, 2008) Teaching Assistantship will be available for ENVIR 503/PBAF 597: Role of Scientific Information in Environmental Decision Making during Spring Quarter 2008.
TA responsibilities include:
TAs at 50% FTE should expect to average approximately 20 hours/week throughout the appointment period, with a total of 220 hours expected for the quarter. Spring appointments run from March 16th - June 15th, although if course responsibilities extend after the 15th, TAs should expect to participate (i.e., grading final projects and exams).
- Attend lectures
- Hold extra review sessions for exams
- Hold regular office hours 1-2 hrs/wk
- Tutor students
- Manage and respond to course-related e-mail
- Prepare webpage for course materials
- Maintain (update) webpage for course materials
- Place course materials on library reserve
- Attend instructor/TA meetings
- Maintain grading records
- Grade homework assignments
