The Center for Quantitative Science, administered by the College of Ocean and Fishery Sciences and the College of Forest Resources, has a part-time (50% FTE), temporary (Spring quarter 2008) Teaching Assistant opportunity available for Spring quarter 2008. We are advertising for a TA for Q Sci 483--Statistical Inference in Applied Research II: Regression Analysis for Ecologists and Resource Managers. The instructor will be Professor John Skalski.

The expected responsibilities of the TA are as follows:

  • TAs at 50% FTE should expect to average approximately 20 hours/week, 220 hours for the quarter. Winter appointments run March 16 – June 15, 2008.
  • Grade weekly homework
  • Keep office hours
  • Grade two or three exams
  • Participate in the computer lab sessions and prepare labs by setting up data sets and software prior to class
