TA for 20 hours per week to assist with a graduate level Survey Research course. In past years about half of the students have been doctoral students from the health sciences, and the others have been from forestry, fisheries, IT, SW and social sciences.
The course meets MW 10-11:50 in CC408, in Health Sciences on the Seattle Campus. The TA would be expected to: 1. Attend all class sessions 2. Aid in designing and preparing course materials (all materials are placed on the web) 3. Participate and lead in-class discussions and small group sessions 4. Assist students in crafting survey proposals 5. Critique student's written work, eg letters of introduction, consent forms, questionnaires, sampling plans and plans of analysis 6. Lecture in some sessions (optional)
Experience with quantitative survey research is required and previous coursework in the topic is desirable. In addition, candidates should be familiar with survey design, methods minimizing survey errors, sampling techniques, and data analysis. Applicants must be currently registered students. This is a union position and stipend is dependent on educational level.
